Queries are similar to menus in the sense that they both produce a list of dynamically created items. What makes queries unique is the number of criteria that can be specified. Queries include all the criteria of menus, as well as time specific criteria and multiple sorting schemes, making them ideal tools to use as the logic behind searches, which is their primary purpose.

Query Types:

  • Content Types
  • Module
  • Tags
  • Times
  • Limit Sort Method Types-
    • alphabetical, action date, comments, etc.
  • Taxonomy
  • Categories
  • Format
  • Security Policy

Creating a new Query:

  1. Click on "Presentation" in the left navigation
  2. Under "Modules," select "Queries"
  3. Once in the Query interface , click "Create new Query"
  4. Fill in the required name field in addition to the optional criteria fields.
  5. Click "Create Query" to submit

Editing an existing Query:

  1. Click on "Presentation" in the left navigation
  2. Under "Modules," select "Query"
  3. Once in the Query interface, navigate to the query you would like to edit, and click "Edit" under "Actions" on the far right.
  4. Make any necessary changes to the query
  5. When finished making edits click "Save Query"
