Files
Files work the same way in eCrowds as they do with many systems you're familiar with; however, files utilized by your eCrowds platform are stored remotely. Files include items like CSS, images and graphics, and any other asset outside of the system you upload into eCrowds.
Creating a New File:
- Click on "Content" in the left navigation.
- Under "Modules" select "Files."
- Once in the File interface, click "Create new file."
- Fill in the File name.
- Click the "Attach file" link and choose the appropriate Content Type.
- Select any relevant sites or taxonomy categories the file applies to.
- Fill in all relevant information and click "Create file" to submit it.

*Note- if you want to save a draft of the file, click the "Save as Draft" button instead of submitting your new file for creation.
Importing Files:
- Click on "Content" in the left navigation.
- Under "Modules" select "Files."
- Once in the File interface, click "Import files."

- Browse to select the location of the Zip File to unpack and import.
- Click "Submit"

*NOTE- When unpacking Zip Files with eCrowds, the system will strip out any folder structure in the files' paths, and simply look for a unique name for each file in the folder. The system name for the file will be default be the file name itself.
Editing Files
- Click on "Content" in the left navigation.
- Under "Modules," select "Files."
- Once in the File interface, navigate to the file you would like to edit, and click "Edit" under "Actions" on the far right.

- Once in the edit window, you will see various text and content editing options, which depends upon the Content Type of your block.
- When finished making edits, click "Save file."
*Note- if you want to save a draft of the file, click the "Save as Draft" button instead of submitting your edited file for creation.
Using/Applying Files
*Note - Files in eCrowds are appended to the end of the URL of the site using the file via relative links. For example, if you uploaded the file "image.gif" into the eCrowds system and changed the display name in the system to photo.jpg, to access that file from your site, you would enter: www.mysite.com/photo.jpg.
Deleting a File
- Click on "Content" in the left navigation
- Under "Modules," select "Files"
- Once in the File interface, navigate to the file you wish to delete, and click "Delete" under "Actions" on the far right.
- When prompted with "Are you sure?" click OK.
