Automatically Create Clickable Link for an http URL
If you want to include a link in your post, you copy the link, then you have to click the hyperlink button and add the link again to “insert link.” This is really annoying and time consuming. It seems like all links starting with http:// should automatically hyperlink unless I’m missing something? Also, while us admins and/or insiders can figure out the extra steps, it’s not intuitive for infrequent users who may just post once or twice.

Pull Page View Data into Manage Mode Interface for Sorting
It would be really cool when within the manage mode interface, if we could sort pages by page views, so we can get an idea from within the interface of what content has been best received. Since page view data is already stored at the page level, it would be nice to see this data in the context of all pages, rather than at each individual page level.
-
Ability to move community forum posts to a *different* forum
When in manage-mode, you can currently move discussion posts in a forum to either: a) another forum category within that same forum, or b) to an idea exchange. It would be extremely helpful if power users could move community-posted comments to a different forum, in the event they were posted in the wrong place.

Provide Single Sign-On capabilities (for Salesforce, etc.)
We have several users using the system that would like to see single sign-on capabilities between eCrowds and CRM systems like Salesforce.com. One example is from an organization using Salesforce for their support portal. They would like their users to be able to login to Salesforce, and when clicking to access their community forum managed by eCrowds, to not have to re-authenticate.
-
Allow for attachment caching
Not sure exactly how this is implemented with S3 but I noticed that CSS files that are stored as eCrowds files are cacheable, but other types of attachments such as JPGs attached to a wiki page are not because they are requested using a different expiration parameter and access key from S3 on every click.
-
Include posting date and user when accessing items thru search
If you access a blog via site search, it doesn’t show the date or the user who posted it. It only shows these if you access the blog through the “Blog” section originally. It’s problematic if the post is related to a time sensitive item (i.e. a “new” feature) and there’s no context for how “new” it is.
-
Show thumbnails of images/files
It would be great under content if there was a way to view a thumbnail of image files, or a way to pop up a preview from the main table of files (this would be great in PI too, but generally theres probably more image hosting happening in eCrowds)
-
Site-wide subscription for changes
Make it easy (and possible) for someone to subscribe to site-wide changes from the actual site. Currently, you can do this from eCrowds but not when you are on the Pardot success site. It would be nice for clients to get general alerts if they wanted.
-
Allow for bulk reassignment of pages to a new taxonomy category
It would be extremely helpful if users were able to bulk reassign a group of pages from one taxonomy category to another. Our particular use case example involves removing a taxonomy category from our site structure. It would make this process a lot easier if when removing the category, if we could specific where to relocate the pages associated with that taxonomy category.

RSS Feeds for Idea Exchanges
Would like to have an RSS feed of recent activity on an Idea Exchange.

Automatic inclusion of hashtags when specified keywords are used in page title
It would be cool if we could specify/define/manage a set of keywords that should be included as hashtags when content is tweeted to Twitter. For example, if “eCrowds” is part of a page’s title and that page is using a content type automatically tweeted, it would be awesome if we could specify “eCrowds” as a keyword to mark with hashtags, so the tweet may appear something like this:

For users of multiple sites powered by eCrowds, display only site-specific contributions on profile
For users who contribute to multiple sites powered by eCrowds, when viewing their profile information on a given site, display only contributions relevant to that site. A good example can be found by looking at my profile on the eCrowds site: http://www.ecrowds.com/~morgan.griffith which shows content contributed to sites aside from www.ecrowds.com. It would be nice if user contributions listed on profiles were tailored to the site on which the contributions were made.

Activity notification e-mails with more context
When I get the notification e-mails about activity in a forum or idea exchange more context would be really beneficial. First off, when comments are displayed, there’s no indication of the thread that they are in response to. Including even the title of the original thread would be helpful. Second, the short summaries are often not very informative. I’d love it if the e-mails could work more like Google search results with a title and longer snippet of the content below.
-
Allow for sorting Idea Exchanges by "Most Recent"
We can currently sort idea exchanges by created date, alphabetical, ratings, and comments. It would be nice to have a “Most Recent” sort property so we could ensure that we’re always viewing the newest content be default when visiting an idea exchange.
-
Add strikethrough ability in wiki/rich editor
Add strikethrough ability with wiki markup and also as a button in the rich text editor. This is useful for posting notes with task assignments whose completions may be updated periodically.
-
Ability to upload/add new images from WYSIWYG in site mode
I would like to be able to upload and use image files from within the WYSIWYG when editing a page in site mode.
-
Make links in comments "nofollow" by default
I suggest making links in any comments on eCrowds hosted pages set to “nofollow” by default to prevent comment spam.
-
When clicking "create" on overview page in site mode, default to creation of wiki page
When on a live site and clicking “create” under an overview index page, the system assumes you are creating another overview index page and auto-populates the page with the same taxonomy category. However, because you cannot have two overview index pages in the same taxonomy category, it would make sense to either default to creating a wiki page to be indexed by that overview page, or to leave the taxonomy category unpopulated so the user can decide where they want to put their new overview index page.
-
Interface for Multiple Attachment Uploading
I’m finding myself with sets of screenshots and other files to upload to a particular page. Would be great to be able to bulk upload multiple attachments at once.
-
Spell Check
Would be great to add spell check to the page creation functionality. No one can spell these days!
