When you are ready to go live with a new site one of the final steps to make is to point your DNS to the eCrowds server. This is accomplished by making a CNAME alias record for the domain, or sub-domain, and pointing it to go.ecrowds.com. In addition to making the DNS change and waiting up to 24 hours for it to propagate, you will also need to edit the site and verify the hostname so that eCrowds knows to use your custom domain and not the default eCrowds sub-domain.

One of the benefits of the CNAME record is that the site gets to take advantage of the automatic geographic load balancing provided by the eCrowds platform.
